Kyle Timothy Blood, President of Kyle Timothy Home, LLC, provides complete design direction—including interior-design schemes, interior-architectural design, and architectural construction management—to create custom, innovative, family-friendly spaces for clients in the New York Metro Area; The Hamptons; Westchester County; and Fairfiled County.

Kyle Timothy recently acted as Design Director for the 2008 Hamptons Cottages & Gardens Idea House—overseeing the “green” renovation of and modern addition to an 1860 farmhouse; selecting and directing 23 participating interior designers; and directing the events to which over 8,000 visitors attended.

Kyle Timothy has been designing interiors for the past fifteen years. He was a featured designer in the Hamptons Cottages & Gardens 2006 and 2007 Idea Houses as well as Albert Hadley’s 2007 Rooms with a View in Southport, CT. His work has appeared in The New York Times and Hamptons Cottages & Gardens.

After graduating with a degree in French and Art History from Dartmouth College, he participated in a Fulbright program in Paris. He then worked for a number of magazines, including Forbes, Country Living and Martha Stewart Living.

Having studied at the New York School of Interior Design, he opened his own firm, Kyle Timothy Home, in 2005.

Kyle Timothy works in all capacities of interior design and building: full interior-design services; architectural construction management; owner’s representative; project management.

His clients have cited his thorough knowledge of the construction and design process; his ability to interpret and implement their vision; his attention to detail; his organizational skills; his familiarity with the marketplace and current trends and products; and his keen sense of color and textures.

Kyle Timothy believes, first and foremost, that the discipline of interior design is a client-service business. While Kyle Timothy is well versed in many design styles, the final product is, and should be, a reflection of the client’s individual aesthetic.

Whether the client has a well-formed vision or has no idea what his/her personal taste is, Kyle Timothy believes in developing interior spaces in conjunction with his clients, and hence each design project becomes a unique design journey, evolving the client’s aesthetic.

Along this “journey,” Kyle Timothy introduces the client to his broad range of resources in all areas of design in order to guide the client toward tasteful choices, choices that are integrated into a comprehensive design scheme, one that is uniquely suited to the client.

Kyle Timothy often commences a project at the blueprint stage, working alongside architect and client, and sees the project through to the most minute details. Kyle Timothy also has a long history of architectural construction management, site management, and acting as client’s representative with other trades.

Kyle Timothy has been cited for his sophisticated use of color, his low-key yet professional approach to his business, his fastidious attention to detail, and his ability to intuit a client’s vision, whether from pages torn from a magazine or from a paint chip.

His design styles range from contemporary/modern to gentrified country to the quintessential Hampton style, including formal homes and casual, yet elegant, beach houses.

As a one-man show, Kyle Timothy is able to dedicate his entire resources to one project at a time, at the client’s request, or work on several projects simultaneously, whether in The Hamptons, New York City, Westchester, or Connecticut.
